Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you all to the fourth edition of our competition. Ever since the first iteration of this project, we have worked hard to make sure that each subsequent event is a step up from those of the past, both in terms of scope and ambition, as well as with regards to quality, and I can promise you that this fourth edition will be no exception.

Unlike previous editions, the 2023 Classic Winds competition will be held between February 14 and March 1, and shall, for the first time ever, be taking place in the United Arab Emirates city of Dubai, one of the most magnificent and beautiful cities in the world. This global city will serve as the perfect backdrop to our competition, which shall this time be open to four different instruments within the wind category – namely flute, oboe, clarinet and saxophone – thereby giving more musicians the opportunity to showcase their abilities, test their limits, and win awards and prizes that will help them further their musical careers.
